Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Depart Marrakech early morning heading south towards the High Atlas Mountains. Drive along the winding scenic Tizi n'Tichka pass with photo stops at Berber villages. Arrive at the legendary Ksar Aït Benhaddou for a guided walking tour. After lunch, pass through Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to arrive at your charming hotel in Dades Gorge.
Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes & Luxury Desert Camp
After breakfast, travel to Tinghir and walk through the dramatic 300-meter-high Todra Gorge canyon. Continue past palm groves and the fossil capital of Erfoud. In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga. Mount your camels for a 1-hour trek across the glowing orange dunes of Erg Chebbi to your luxury camp. Enjoy a traditional 3-course Moroccan tagine dinner followed by live Berber music by the campfire under the Milky Way.
Merzouga Sunrise – Rissani – Draa Valley – High Atlas – Marrakech
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise over the dunes. Enjoy a generous breakfast at camp before camel trekking or 4x4 transfer back to Merzouga village. Begin the return scenic journey through Rissani, Alnif, the lush Draa Valley with its millions of date palms, and across the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech. Drop off at your Riad in the evening.
